EVA’s Coronavirus Challenge

During the pandemic, our club has issued weekly and bimonthly word prompts to inspire the creativity of our members and friends. Currently, the prompts are announced on our Facebook Page every two weeks. They have included colors words like “blue” and “orange” figurative words like “pets,” as well as more abstract concepts like “catharsis” and “gratitude.” We post images as artists submit them and at the end of the challenge period we send out the entire group of images. These displays have been quite a hit and participants have enjoyed the whole process. We invite you to join in!

EVA’s Quarterly Challenge

Each quarter our club members are challenged with a single word or simple phrase and asked to respond with interpretive creations related to the prompt.  At the meeting when the challenge artwork is accepted, votes are tallied—first, second and third place are awarded At that meeting, the Challenge stands in place of the regular Artist of the Month competition. The points awarded to Challenge winners are included in Artist of the Year tallies. Artists may contribute as many pieces as they wish to the quarterly challenge. Art from the Challenge is displayed in the lobby of Foothill Presbyterian Church for 3 months—until the next challenge.
