Demonstration of a mural, inspired by traditional Ukrainian folk art, with Natasha Kramskaya

Ukrainian-born American contemporary artist Natasha Kramskaya grew up exploring the nature and history of the ancient Black Sea region where she developed a profound curiosity and love for the heritage and life around her. At the turn of the century, she moved from Ukraine to the US where she graduated from the San Francisco Academy of Art University and began working as a creative director, painting alongside.

Natasha’s art focuses on empathy, cultural identity, and fragility of life. She is moved by intensity of color, interplay of light and shadow, and depth, texture and patterns which compose our world. Natasha works with acrylic, oil and mixed media. Most of Natasha’s work is both realistic and abstract at the same time. Natasha is drawn to portraits, however her latest work has been focused around Ukrainian traditions, symbols, and folklore.

Natasha’s art has been published by several magazines. She is the selected artist for the San Francisco General Hospital Hearts project. Natasha’s work has shown in dozens of exhibits in galleries around the San Francisco Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest, and her art can be found in collections across the United States, as well as internationally.
