From the Artist:
I am a predominantly lens based artist, but I also value transdisciplinary art and the various possibilities and outcomes that intersection and collage inspire. Combining my love of the raw expressive nature of charcoal with the structure of printed photographs, I enhance the narrative of my images by tearing or cutting a photograph and creating collages that interlace fragments of the print with meticulously rendered, photorealistic charcoal drawings. Inspired by the works of Judith Joy Ross, Mary Ellen Mark, and Sally Mann, I strive to capture the essence of life's fleeting moments in a similarly authentic manner. The theme of uncovering beauty in the mundane while celebrating life's essence with authenticity is the common thread woven into all of my work.
